Well I thought of a way to go compact and servicable in a piston vavle very easily. pisture explains all, not to scale.

Doesnt seem like it would compact the valve much, bushing dont screw all the way in and at the front if you want compactness it would be better to go with a slip bushing
That is all.

I can get a bushing all the way in
what do you mean is I want compactness go with a slip bushing. Where should the slip bushing go, in place of the threaded on in front? Then I would need a female adapter. And it is pretty compact because there is no female adapter in the back.

I was talking about the front, if you can get it all the way in go for it
That is all.

the point of using a threaded bushing is so that you don't need a female adapter in the front for interchangable barrels. you sand out the back half of the threads to put the 1/2 pvc seat in and the front half of threads remains so you don't need a female adapter.

This is what everyone does for metal piston valves using galvanized steel or brass. Usually there is a bell reducer screwed into the back, in your design, the piston may go back into the BV

No the point is to make it in PVC without the female adapter on the back before the pilot. the nipple is the only galvanized part on it but if you can find a PVC nipple then it would work.
@c11man there is no female adapter on the front or back.

ok so this design has a bigger ballvalve pilot than most? there are also many with the nipple straight to the ballvavle so its still nothing new

Yes MRR but the point of mine was to make the pilot directly behind the tee with no fittings. There's one thing I just realized though... I didn't drawy the fill :D But that's simple, either tap a schrader/quick connect and ball valve into the PVC BV pilot, or put a quick connect behind the ball valve.
