QEV with Inflator
I was looking at some CAD drawings made by dewey-1 and noticed one of his drawings http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... revstart=0 had which looks to be an air inflator hooked directly up to the pilot side of a qev. My question is does this act like a 3-way spool valve? I tried searching for this with no luck.

No, the blowgun/inflator is only a pilot valve.

Yep, but some blowguns can be modified into 3 way valves, although you'd be better off just getting a proper 3-way.

It can be used as inflator using the trigger handle.Gun Freak wrote:No, the blowgun/inflator is only a pilot valve.
Then it can be used as a pilot valve by using the pushbutton.
How these work as a tire inflator is to fill with trigger until desired pressure.
If you happen to over inflate you can use the button to release the pressure to desired pressure.
In other words it has two valves in it.

Have you considered fitting a spring to the QEV and adding a small equalisation hole, then feeding air through the chamber side?
Damn sight cheaper than looking around for a 3 way valve
Here'san example of the concept, courtesy of Brian the Brain.

I have considered doing this. I took the valve apart the other day and got nervous about putting a hole in the diaphram. Will this work with a QEV from mcmaster? It looks like most people are using the "european" style QEV'sHave you considered fitting a spring to the QEV and adding a small equalisation hole, then feeding air through the chamber side?

If you're worried about modifiying the original diaphragm, you could always make your own out of suitable material
