I've stopped compound shooting now so I'm picking up a recurve. Decided to go with a Hoyt GMX in red fusion w/ 990TX carbon fiber/syntactic foam limbs.
-25" red fusion GMX
-Long 42# 990TX limbs (really 46# considering my draw length)
-SF Premium limbs (training limbs)
-Sureloc contender sight w/ Beiter aperture
-ARE rest
-W&W clicker
-Cartel triple plunger
-Custom 8125 string
-2114 Easton X7 Eclipses
-Cartel triple stab (probably going to order a v-bar and matching side rods)
Anyone else shoot recurve or fita/field/3d, or just shoot in general? Let's see your stuff

Nice bow!
Im sorry but i cant give someone credit shooting factory made bow

I know so many bowmakers in finland, most of them as a close friend, i have shot many handmade longbows, recurves, flatbows etc. and iv shot a compound bow, and i have to say the feeling when shooting beautifull handcrafted bow is awesome
but still nice bow

hmm i dont believe so. Bows have very good power and penetration, and i bet its much more accurate than that pneumatic cannon

I know a (young) apprentice cabinet maker who makes their own bows locally- he's made some nice pieces of work but is still on a learning curve with making a really durable bow. Once he has it basically mastered though he's agreed he'll guide me through making one, I'd like to make a nice laminated recurve.
I appreciate the traditional stuff too. Sure can't shoot it well, but I like the idea and feel of it.
I would probably put more effort into practicing with a more traditional bow but I shoot FITA now, and barebow/recurve doesn't really fit competitive shooting for me. I'd like to give it a try someday though. Traditional shooting was what interested me in archery as a kid.
Incase anyone's wondering... Just to give a feel for how expensive archery is, that set of limbs alone retail $650.

actually, laminated bows arent always so good as the bows made from one piece. Its matter of good wood, good desing and patience makinf it
