I bought one of these recently and I think it's a fantastic tool. If you don't have a drill press or you're away from one and you need to drill a perpendicular hole, this will help you out. It even has a groove which allows you to drill perpendicular to pipes and into corner stock. It has great uses for building cannons.

Note: I have no affiliation with this company. I saw the product in Make Magazine and bought one immediately.

That tool accessory is made for people like me! I can line something up with a try square and spirit level but when it comes to drilling the hole it wont even be close to perpendicular :D

I'm usually pretty decent with drilling, even freehand, but I might pick one up. Perfect for <s>drilling a good flash hole in mini cannons</s> keeping small bits from breaking.

See two sales already, they must pay you well

Hey fellow AUSPAC members, I want one too. :D
Can we do a combined Oz order then ship Mr C's over the ditch ?

That metric one looks perfect for so many jobs drilling pipes that I cannot lug to the drill press.

I would bet purchasing a mill is not something one would ever regret.

The only regret is not buying it sooner!

I've had one of these for several years and they are great. I've no need to use it for drilling, but it's a great hand tap guide for small or quick parts.

I hadn't thought of that. Good idea, though it wouldn't exactly work with tapered thread taps.

On the order page he sells guides specifically for taps I think.
