Anybody use this 400 psi Sigma QEV?

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

I've been searching the web for a few days, looking for high performance QEVs rated for 350 psi or more with little luck. So far this was the only one I could find that met my requirements:

Anybody buy this valve or even have dealings with sigma? If you have, could you tell me if it was worth it?

Thanks!

You could just use one of the typical UK or US style QEVs. People have taken them over 500PSI before, I believe. I've taken mine to about 400PSI. If it does fail, the likely scenario is the piston/diaphragm failing and opening the valve. Just treat the air cannon as you would a firearm when it's loaded and pressurised and you should be safe.

Really? I'll browse the forum for some tried and tested UK models then, cheers!

One final question. Would it be worth piloting a QEV valve with another QEV valve, which is in turn fired by a hammer valve? I want to make a single shot gun, and want a mechanical trigger that can hide inside the body of the gun, unlike a spring loaded ball valve, but I'm concerned about the flow and opening time of hammer valves.

Many thanks.

I've used a 1/4" QEV to pilot a 3/4" QEV, if you can get them cheap then go for it. I have a blowgun piloting the 1/4" QEV, which is probably overkill for that even. I imagine a hammer valve would work with the 1/4" QEV.

I don't really care about overkill. I just want to squeeze the most possible power out of a QEV valve at 350 psi and a 50 inch barrel (which I understand, in spudding, to be pretty short) - hopefully 100 fpe.

Thanks again for your help.
