airsoft grenade

i would like help designing some kind of airsoft grenade. the specs are: good coverage(blast radius),pnuematic,hand held, easy to make, no lathe involved.

i have spent a multitude of hours mulling this over to no avail. could some one help?

they already make airsoft grenades, and i have no question that they are cheaper than what ever you make. think citric acid

airsoft grenade launchers are shotguns,

HOWEVER

there is a europeon company that does manufacture actual airsoft 7mm pellet grenades.

I personally think they are dangerous but,

they are made of a carboard shell, and have a firecracker like explosive in the middle that is trigger somehow and sends the BBs everywhere...

i am done because talking about explosives is forbiddin.

i was actually thinkingabout a 12 gram inside somthing surounded by air soft pellets when u throw it the 12 gram his a nail or somthing and blows up whatever it is inside of launching airsoft pellets everywhere

From personal experiences with a simple airsoft landmine, a 12 gram or any co2 like it, is unsafe for use in anything in that matter. If you toss it for one, the containment device can become ruptured in which case a co2 cartridge, made of metal, can fly out and injure the target of the grenade. Second, it wont work with a co2 cartridge because a co2 cartridge releases a direct flow of gas out of the tip of the cartridge which would only push a few pellets instead of a firecracker (i didnt mention this part admins are imagining it) forces the pellets in every direction because the entire thing explodes. Also if you dont believe me about the co2 shooting like a missle at something, i have made a pvc landmine that used a method of stepping on a plunger that punctured the co2, i used a stick to simulate stepping on it, and it went off perfectly as planned the first time, but the second trial the co2 catridge blasted through the cleanout cap and flying upward lucky not injuring or damaging anything.

I've pondered this idea for a long time too.

I tried to come up with a non-pyro, most likely co2 powered grenade.

One idea could be some sort of bleed valve on a 12 gram. It releases gas slowly when you prime it and eventually overcomes a burst disc of some kind that fires bbs all over.


Good luck with it, hope you come up with something decent.

Tokyo Marui makes airsoft frags that use green gas but aren't that great so I've heard...

It treds on uncertain legal ground, and most likely isn't a good idea as far as saftey goes.

This idea would be too complicated, involving time effort and numerous failures, so i suggest the following. make a barrel for a pneumatic spud cannon as if it was designed to be a bust disk(but actualy sprinkler) instead of putting a bust disk put some sort of mesh there that bb's wont be able to go through (i suggest the insect thing on windows) them drop alot of bb's in there you would only be able to shoot up and bb's would rain down but its a pretty easy thing to make.

I got an idea that i think will work! Get some kind of container.....I would say a bottle but the rules say no "bottle bombs". Put some baking soda, viniger and bbs in it. Quickly close it up and run!

You can also try adding citric acid. Hope it works!!!

You could make a combustion launcher and send up mortors consisting of a thin skined balloon filled with BB's. The balloon would impact the ground from a dastance and depending on the type of balloon would exsplode and send BB's every where.
