Ok I have a over and under gun like this one but its modded and has a few extra goodies.http://members.aol.com/sph911/spud/electronic.html
Yesterday while shooting the the threads that go into the sprinkler valve snapped while shooting.
ALot of painfull thoughts right there.
SO my sprinkler valve is going to take some work to get fixed and my barrel/chamber need some new fittings.
Does anyone know why the threads snapped? They were pressure rated sch40 and they look like the broke of sideways?
Anytips on removing the threads? I cant get a grip on them they are flush with the female sprinkler valve fittings.
My threads snapped?

Use a hacksaw blade to slice the lenth of the broken part that you cant get ahold of, then use a small straight screwdriver insert into the slice and gently but firmly work on crakeing it the rest of the way, if you can make that happen you should be able to spin out the broken part with your fingers. It's realy easier then it sounds, i've done that with alot of hose ends on tractors and such.
Use a nipple extractor.

if you dont have a nipple extractor, when something similar happened to me i just cracked the threaded coupler on the inside and it fell to pieces in the other threaded pipe.but that requires brute force and you may damage the valve.

Yah you know all about that.Use a nipple extractor.
"In this week's episode of Spudders, we meet out heroes at the local hardware store, looking for cool things to use to take over the universe. The four are giddily browsing the shelves of this humble shop with devious grins. As UtcPyro and SMOMW are incomprehensibly blundering on about how they could use some of these various sink parts for a new doomsday device using their thick southern drawls, Sgort87 looks intrigued as he stares up at the self a few feet away. He reaches up, grabs the item which he was eyeing, and further inspects it. With excitement and curiosity he raises it to Mr. Plow's chest and starts rotating it. Scared and confused, Plow looks at Gort and says "what the [intercourse] are you doing?!". Gort responds in dissappointment "damn, this nipple extractor doesn't work!"

Ya I don't think taht may work. I have sch80 fittings there. and the valve is 26$ so I dont want to damage it.MrCrowley wrote:if you dont have a nipple extractor, when something similar happened to me i just cracked the threaded coupler on the inside and it fell to pieces in the other threaded pipe.but that requires brute force and you may damage the valve.
