help with project

im doin this one science fair project. it involves fireing a payload from a selected amount of force. now. when you measure volume you end up getting you answer in cubic inches, feet or whatever. now. when i fill the chamber with pressure(PSI) pounds per SQUARE inch. how would i determine how much pounds of force thats putting out? help please and suggestions.
