Carbon Fiber

My brother owns a small Carbon Fiber Plant. I was thinkin of constuction a pneumatic cannon with a carbon fiber chamber. My Question is if the chamber is made from Carbon Fiber and the parts are PVC does it pay to use it? If it can withstand a high PSI would it blow out the pvc parts when the valve opens? Any help on this would be great.

If you used sch80 NSF-PW PVC parts I'd think you'd be fine... I'd just be worried about the carbon fiber chamber shrapneling if you over pressurized or dropped it. It'd look SWEET though.
The valve would probably be the weakest point.
Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Yeah i thought of that i wasn't to sure what kind of pressure it could hold. My brother told me it should be good for around 300 PSI. I don't have a compressor that will do that anyway. I might just make it anyway. Thanks alot i am new at this and i want to try things that people haven't done yet. I just posted a twin chamber cannon and seems that it's not that good from the amount of responses i got.
Wouldn't PVC shatter as well?Pete Zaria wrote:I'd just be worried about the carbon fiber chamber shrapneling if you over pressurized or dropped it.

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Don't they make high pressure paintball tanks outta carbon fiber? I vaguely recall if they do (I think I saw one that held 5000psi ? Nitrogen maybe?)
The carbon fibre is wrapped round an aluminium tank, its not sitting there on its own.

that stinks. well, he never said you couldn't use ball bearings, right.

I just needed to blow off some steam. I probably should have taken it out some other way, but I guess I "popped". sorry.

EDI: well, I think of a noob as someone who is relatively new to the hobby, or if your saying stars, maby 5 light blue is the end of being a noob. that is just my opinion.
you dont have to worry about me getting mad at you or not liking you, you seem cool.

noob is not really a derogatory (bad, mean) term, It is just another way of saying "new".
to take out my anger, I practice bass (playing death metal... yeah, that works pretty well), listen to music (metal once again), shoot something, work on something, shoot the swat, or ride my dirtbike.
heck, walking in the woods & trails helps too....
wow, we're really off-topic.
