Impressive. Is there anything installed to prevent multiple feeds or does it just seem to work?
It isn't.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:It's probably loud enough to bend space-timeRagnarok wrote:I know you're an hour ahead of me, but that wouldn't even quite put you into November 9th.
The hammer valve makes the QEV close rapidly, leaving most of the air in the chamber. This sacrifices some performance, but this does allow multiple shots from the chamber.
This causes it to be way more efficient, and makes it pretty silent. It's still a bang of course, but relatively (for 42-bar QEV guns) it is silent.

Oopsy...in Holland we write 9-11 for november 9th.
I reversed it so everyone would understand but I wasn't paying attention.
Whatever..who will know in a few days right?
I've added the retainers for the mag, wich not only look the part, but also keep it in place rock solid.
It's still removable.Just slides off after a good push.
I've just started checkering bits of the stock...
It will look amazing!
I use a centerpunch ( ?) and a hammer and do it like they used to make tattoos.
Samoa style baby!!
I'll add some curles and stuff to make it look 1800's..
It will need another coat of laqcuer afterwards..
This thing draws quite a crowd on youtube BTW..
I keep getting fanmail!
The BB is pushed back against the bolt by the next BB in the mag.
It is only freed from this position when the bolt slides forward.
I can however get a double feed if I deliberately work the bolt twice..
If I would do it 5 times I get buckshot..

Yes.The T-bolt design means the bolt is the same diameter as the ammo.Impressive. Is there anything installed to prevent multiple feeds or does it just seem to work?

We can't really appreciate your work
Ask MrC for advice
I remember seeing an article on an airgun magazine recommending a similar technique to texture a stock, simple and with a bit of patience the effect is impressive

A problem with most mag fed PCPs, it's only a major issue when you have a suppressor though as you can easily damage the baffles - as I did with my MonsoonI can however get a double feed if I deliberately work the bolt twice.

@ Psy: About an hour. But I'm not sure..
I started on it today and posted about it two days ago.
It was finished yesterday..All this timebending got me confused..
Yeah..I'd say about an hour.
@ JSR: the funny thing is..It was running low on batteries and I though about the Mr C. thing...But I knew It would die on me if I would reset it to get a better focus..so after the overall pics I decided to leave it until I had recharged the batts....Honest truth.
So it's the battery problem again..

The problem is the guy working the bolt twice..A problem with most mag fed PCPs

I'll have to revisit that design one day..
And redo it with checkered wood!!
All housed in a big old wood body..

In my case it's assuming that the Monsoon failed to cycle, then cycling it manually, and there you have it, 2 pellets in the breech. With bolt actions it's easy to automatically reload after shooting, then thanks to a delay/distraction until you take your next shot you reload again before shooting.Brian the brain wrote:The problem is the guy working the bolt twice...
I don't have that sexy rug to take pictures of my gun on though...
That's the shorty pimp rug, you need to build a certain number of high pressure launchers then saw off their barrels before you can have the privilege of owning one

I made a small vid of it cycling...ONCE..
hope you like it!
And some pics of the checkering on the opposite side now.
I used ink to fill up the holes, sanded away the ink on the highs, then lacquered it again..
result:
( yes this is with the focus on)
Oh..and don't make me double post again...
Or I'll stop doing requests..
