Somehow I have my doubts the damage to the car was with a spring opened ball valve. A little more pressure and valve speed would be needed for that.

hmm that's probably because he used and air operated (actuated via an air cylinder) ball valve as the pilot valveSomehow I have my doubts the damage to the car was with a spring opened ball valve

You are correct, sir. The damage was caused by a lowly Piston valve.The QDV also has no plumbing for pressure loss between the chamber and valve.
