Machined pengun - Dimply

Miniature guns are novelty custom, unique, and sometime downright crude! Common construction materials often include pill bottles or pens. Show us your work!

Thanks. I need to cut the barrel to length, make a little adapter for the cap valve and glue the whole thing together. With a bit of luck I'll do that this week.

Now you can really find those edges... take the time to play a bit with the tool, before the dimpling frenzy :D

Me too, I suddenly have way too much work on my hands :?

... and done. Almost according to plan. The body turned out pretty well, the cap.... moved. So a dimple became a groove, and I added a small hole for venting. Not what was intended but it turned out pretty well :)

Transforming mistakes into features is perfectly normal. Nothing wrong with that!!!

Very very good! You can be proud of the result, with this little project you've learned and succeeded in a lot of different machining process.

For someone that never used a lathe or mill before, that's quite an achievement!

Kudos to you!!!

It's definitely been a great training exercise as intended, and I'm proud of the result - though I think you can take at least 80% of the credit because without your advice and tutorials I wouldn't have done it so quickly.

Now, your turn, we have yet to see your "Dimply" perforate some cans ;)
