Ok I'm about to order the solenoid, jack are you sure it's strong enough? I still need a hit of 2kg for the valve to work safely and reliably. Just to make sure I won't be wasting money.

wouldn't it be simpler to connect the chamber to a pneumatic cylinder with a solenoid or push button valve to fire it, so it hits the hammer valve and feeds the air back in to the tank?wyz2285 wrote:Ok I'm about to order the solenoid, jack are you sure it's strong enough? If I uses electric hammer, I could make selective fire, like single/semi/full auto
here is a pic about the finished valve.

aah me sees but... for that 3kg explosive kick... cylinder me thinks!wyz2285 wrote:If I uses electric hammer, I could make selective fire, like single/semi/full auto

I can't really tell, it "looks about right" but it depends on what voltage and current you're going to put through it, how heavy the hammer is, how far it will travel, how much friction it has to counter...wyz2285 wrote:Ok I'm about to order the solenoid, jack are you sure it's strong enough?
I would go for something bigger to be honest.

1kg is more than what i need, that coil says to have 0.8 N holding power, it should be enough, the hammer will be light, actually from what i see in the photo of the coil, it already has a injection pin that looks heavy enough, travels 2 cm, hope it works. So now i should worry about the firing circuit, can somebody that knows electronics show me a simple semi/full selection fire circuit for this? That would help a lot.

What does that timer do? Looks like something i can found in a electric store. In the site says it can be used make simple circuits, but itself won't give me selection fire right? Sorry i really don't know much about making slightly complex circuits, the only electric thing i have made is a single stage coilgun.
sorry didn't watch the site very well, what a fantastic circuit! I will read more about how to use it tomorrow, gonna sleep now

costs almost nothing and you should be able to come up with a system of selectable rates of fire or bursts after a bit of reading

wow i can buy one with the changes i got from buying the coil :p (wonder if i buy it in quantity do i get a discount
)
From what i have read, astable mod is like automatic fire mod, monostable for single shot, but i didn't understand how does bistable do, burst fire

Have you been able to get your valve to seal yet have a manageable amount of friction? without that I don't think you'll be more successful than jack at this design. have you considered a valve setup like the one's in electromagnetic paintball markers

you could do the same thing only you'd replace the air cylinder with a solenoid overall the valve should have less friction

I'm wondering why the spring looks so heavy. This shouldn't really need a heavy spring to operate. You should use only enough tension to keep the valve from bouncing. That will minimize the force needed to open the valve and will improve power at the same time.

I only need 0.5 kg to open the valve, low friction because i used o-rings to seal, no leaks
when the coil arrives i will make some test to show you guys

Your valve will leak through the " exhaust" hole at the moment it passes the o-ring.
You'll need two to keep it from blowing air straight into atmosphere.
I've made that particular design, but handoperated.
It kind of disappointed me.
But that was back in the day...when 100psi seemed like..really really high pressure...

Found out that I need to protect the valve from dust, so I cut a section of a small ballon, worked nicely
