I decided it was best to start my own "mini chopper"topic as I will be updating with pictures quite regularly.

For those of you who missed it, I used a pitbike as a base and took out the shock.
Then I welded the hardtail after removing several unwanted frameparts.

I formed a seatpan from flat sheetmetal and over the weekend I glued and sanded a piece of foam.
Then I made the leather cover and started with the needle and thread.

Looks like it was custom made by a bikeshop if you ask me. 8)

I also cut the ( plastic!) sides off a scootercase and "welded" the two parts together using a flathead screwdriver and a stove.
I amazed myself...never thought it would work that well!
It is now a single piece and is used as a tankcover.
I could make a complete tank this way, but I'm not sure it is gasoline resistent.
I'm hoping I can "weld" an inner tank from the original pitbike tank in a similar way.
If that prooves impossible I'm stuck using one from a minibike.

Long story:
I got 2 complete honda clone engines and one ( semi-auto gearchange and with starter engine) without cilinder, head and piston.

I plan to do a complete engine rebuild of the 125cc I had bought new (to replace the standard 50), but wich failed after 3000 km's.
It slips out of second gear.

I plan to transfer everthing into and onto the casing with the starter engine on top, except for the gearchange fork wich will stay.

That will give me a 125cc engine that looks like the one that came with my bike originally, but a lot stronger and off course mostly new and problemfree again.
I've already modified the 125 cilinder so it says "49cm3"on the side in original lettering..

I'll put this one in my bike in stead of the 110cc engine I currently use in my bike.

I'll take the 110 and replace the clutch, gearlever and clutchcover etc. to turn that engine into a semi.
( manual gearchange with automatic clutch)

Once that is done it will be bolted on my kids bobber.
I figure it is best to keep gearchanging simple for him.
( Since I'll be going suicide shifter.. )

I'll limit the throttle so the bike doesn't kill him..
He's 9 after all and I've done 90km/h at least with the 110cc engine.
Probably 100.
I could pop wheelies with the dirtbike with a 50cc engine already..

So, long story, but... it will have a 110cc semi-auto shifter engine in it and limited adjustable throttlemotion.

Hey, I still fold a bit of cardboard over the forks and pretend I'm riding a motorbike. Damn awesome.

Excellent work BTB, I'm jealous of your son. I only got a CB100 when I was a little bit older.

Small update as Fibromyalgia is popping up pretty bad due to the sudden heat...

( not a pleed for sympathy BTW, I am slowly recovering...I used to have some good days, now I just have some bad..)

After I took the pics I saw I had misplaced the tank, causing it to hang off a bit..Looks a bit weird...I did manage to solder the inner tank together wich is now watertight.
Haven't done that much to the bike but I wanted to share the planned frame addition.Temporarily suspended with Scotchtape offcourse..

...just to see where I'm going...
Looks about right.
Some tweaks and I'll weld her up.

Crossbraces and stuff will be added afterwards..

I bent the dragbar in a slightly more ergonomic way and took it from being just a piece of 1/2" gaspipe to being actual handlebars..

A nice sidenote is that this pipe has served as a spudgun chamber before..

It has held around 60 bar...so yeah...I'd count that as a spudgun part..

Last but not least..I got a headlight for it..

Actually, I sawed off his toy Winchester yesterday as a side project.
Welded up the hollow butt with the leftovers using the soldering method..Looks nice.

Definately a usefull construction method in spudding...( when it comes to cosmetics)

He wants me to make the bike look like Arnie's Harley...but once I go down that route , knowing him, he's gonna want an exact replica and bust my ..testicals...over every little detail.

He's already saying things ( in English) like :"don't do that!"( Terminator 3 quote after he gets shot in the mouth) and: "Get Down" raising his sawed off like the Terminator getting his 1887 out of the box of roses..
And offcourse: "I'll be back" whenever he leaves the room..
He doesn't do things halfhearted.
I've been hearing his stories about different Nerf models and all possible mods for several weeks now.

I'm doing this my way..
Maybe I can get his mom to take a picture of us later on side by side on the bikes both holding lever action guns and wearing sunglasses..
That would be funny..

Today he mentioned he would like a minigun exhaust...hmm...
I'll think about that one..

Anyway,...I welded ( I seem to like saying that..) the innertank to the outer tank and cleaned it up.
Stuck on the last bit of plastic sheeting in the back to finish it off.

I trimmed down the gascap ( making it shallower) so it would still seal with all that extra material inbetween and I started planing it into shape ( simple and round).Still need to complete it.
Already looks better than the original wich screamed "pitbike!"

Once finished I'll spray it gold....Maybe gold and worn black over it...
If I can find some I'd like 3 chrome spikes to top it off..

I cleaned up the front end in a hurry. Quick sprayover to see how it would look...and put on a battery powered led headlight I found amazingly cheap BTW.

Still a heap of work to do but I can see it all coming together..it will be so cool once I start her up later on!!
