.40 Cal Stun dart accuracy?

I was looking at ammo for my .40 cal high-pressure sniper and i decided that having stun darts might make for a better ammo becasue there would be no large metallic spikes digging 20 inches into trees..........

i already have a 6 foot long peice of .406 inch inner dimateter Aluminum tubing (basically a .40 blowgun barrel, exept 6 feet long....) as my barrel, and all the other parts....

my problem is that the stun darts, however cheap they are, seem like they would be significantly less accurate than other ammo. they have a flat front, wich seems like it would cause disturbances and throw it off course.

i kinda want to stick with these, becuse i can get 500 bright orange stun darts for only 23 bucks, as 500 other darts (spike darts, wire darts) cost aorund 50 bucks.

basically, if anyone has used these out of a blowgun and have noticed any changes in accuracy between these and other darts, please let me know/explain how to fix it. remember, any small deviation it accuracy at 250 FPS is a HUGE deviation at 1000 FPS.........

any pics of any mould lines on the darts would also be great. i want to know everything there possibly is to know about the .40 cal stun dart... thank you.....

I don't see why that should be a problem - have you seen what shape high-accuracy match pellets have?

stun darts dont actually have PERFECT flat fronts though, well, as far as i know.

i still feel like i want to see a picture of a stun dart thats not trying to sell it.

either that or get one and hold it for myself.

If they're moulded then they're bound to be fairly consistent in shape and weight.

I'd still go for one of these personally



Re: muzzle accesories, in this case I think a perforated barrel type silencer would be a better idea, because of the way that the tail flares out.

ok, thats basically what i needed. they look nice and shiny... im exited now...

and im picking up a few of those "rabbit hunter" darts as well. theres always some large peice of wood just asking for a hunk of hardened steel to be shoved into its gut

all i know i want to stay away from are wire darts. they seem like they would buckle and break after a shot. i want to be able to re-use my darts at least sometimes. although i might get 1 or 2 so i can punch holes in quarters.

I don't see why that should be a problem - have you seen what shape high-accuracy match pellets have?

Flat heads are only accurate to 10 meters, the reason that it is flat is that it leaves a nice round hole.

Round heads are your best bet.

If fired fast enough flatheads can be just as accurate - the guns they are usually fired out of are meant for 10 metres shooting and have relatively low velocities, but if you fire the same round from a more powerful rifle it will maintain accuracy over a longer range.

Live with the flatheads or invest in stingers

lol. or i can get metal-tipped super stun darts. cost the same as stingers.......

meh ill use the flatheads for now. if they leave nice circles in my target it would make me happy........

Also, anyone know where i can get a boresighter?
